Marset - Gentle Light by Night

Lightstar is the leading regional specialist for specification-grade lighting and fans throughout the Caribbean. We have an extensive line of products, each carefully selected for their quality, design and suitability to the region and climate. Our continuing objective is to provide reliable and durable products that embrace the latest technology and up-to-the-minute design elements.

An ideal example of this is Marset's Elipse, designed by Josep Lluís Xuclàn. It's an encounter between simple and organic forms and enhances the light it emits as it interacts with what it illuminates.

Embracing simplicity, its design consists of an aluminium tube with two openings that allow the light to be projected from the top and to escape from the bottom. The opening at the top features an irregular shape, an aesthetic detail visible when the lamp is off and greatly enhanced when it is on, as a perfect ellipse is traced on the lamp itself, standing out in the darkness.

The interior of the tube is white, and, when illuminated, the light grows and comes alive, as the lamp itself almost seems to disappear, and only the light remains. Meanwhile, at the bottom the light escapes, and the base that supports functions as a reflective screen, such that the light seems to float. In expansive outside settings this lamp enhances the light that it emits as it interplays with whatever it illuminates: a tree, a garden, a wall, or a façade.

Available with graphite grey or brown in two heights: 48 and 79 cm. Elipse functions as a single lighting element, or in combination with several at the same time. This collection also offers an outdoor wall version.

TXL by Joan Gaspar. Just as materials and techniques evolve, so do lamps. The TXL managed to light up exteriors with the same warmth as interiors. But “all things must change to stay the same”, and so the lamp is updated and presented with a new fabric shade. This new material better withstands adverse weather conditions and clothes the lamp in a ductile, and yet solid and resilient look. The new TXL wants to fill the space with its own light. Its design stands out for its size, but it’s the fabric material that allows the light to pass through the shade and shimmer.

Another change accorded by the designer is the base, now made of poured concrete, giving it a cleaner, one-piece look. Strong and formidable, the TXL prospers, but its essence remains unchanged and it continues to serve its purpose: to take the inviting light of a home and move it outdoors.

Featuring a concrete base and stainless steel stem. The shade is made made of textilene with the inner part always in white. Diffuser in white acid etched glass.

These stunning contemporary and durable designs are ideal for the Caribbean, where the nighttime ambience is essential to hospitality, and they are equally perfect for office spaces and private homes.
